Happy 9th Birthday, Brianne!

Brianne's cake is a 10 inch chocolate cake, 4 layers, with two layers of chocolate buttercream filling and one layer of ganache filling. It is 5 inches tall! It is iced in chocolate buttercream (thin layer), then topped with homemade fondant. I did the two layers of buttercream in the cake so that those who don't care for fondant can take it off but still have a good filling-to-cake ratio.

The loopy bow is gumpaste...it has been damp here so although I did it two days ago, it is not as dry as I would like. Still good though. The 3D butterflies are gumpaste, and the smaller ones are piped on. All are coated in luster dust. The drum is fondant covered, embossed and covered in luster dust. Around the cake are embossed butterflies. In case you hadn't guessed, the birthday girl wanted a butterfly cake!
